we've been learning about nouns in language, and today's lesson was a common noun vs. a proper noun. they were supposed to make proper nouns from a list of common nouns (boy-David, girl-Lori, etc). one of the words was teacher, and of course, most of the class put my name down because, well, i'm their teacher. duh!
i got a big kick out of one of my boys who put my name in the teacher blank. he obviously has never seen my last name spelled out, because in the blank he filled in, "ms. her..."
i asked him later if he knew how to spell my name and he got this big grin on his face and said, "i know it starts out her, but after that i don't know."
ms. her...
it's so much easier than hernandez, don't ya think?!
